Hi All

I found this website upon researching Fabia problems.

I own a 2002 Fabia 1.9 SDI, I love this car, it has had it's faults over the years but I'm loathed to give up on it.

The wipers died last Thursday, so changed the fuse, well swapped the rear wiper fuse for the front wiper fuse...then a day later put in a fuse for the rear wipers. The rear wipers then wiped at a snails pace, but worked and allowed to rest until Sat morning....this is when the major problem commenced.

My Fabia will now not start, it seems to be an electrical problem but my little Fab refuses to talk to the pc once plugged in so i have no idea as to what is wrong,,,, a relay has been replaced and still it will not start...it seems the onboard computer may need to be sent away...but I would really like to know if anyone else has has this problem and if the solution is simple

Please, if anyone has any suggestion etc I would very much appreciate your assistance

Many thanks

Car now working....hoorah

After many hours of diagnosis, dismantling of dashboard etc, eventually discovered it was all down to a faulty fuse that was only permitting 2v through....one relieved fabia owner.

By the way has anyone else out a problem with the power steering, can't find out much about it on this site but if you google there really is a serious fault with it and i too have this intermittent problem, shame on Skoda for refusing to acknowledge it and recalling all effected fo fix it! Until then I shall continue to work out my biceps & chest muscles when it packs in!!

Your steering angle sensor might be on the way out if it is working intermittently. Have you had the steering wheel light appear on the dash when it gets heavy, and does it also sometimes get ultra-light, not just heavy? New sensor is about £60 I think, around half hour to fit as its under car and wiring needs running from base of steering column to the PAS pump on the nearside of the engine bay.
