changing wiper blades

Featured Replies

How easy is it to change the front wiper blades on my octy vrs? Had a look myself, and it don’t look that straightforward as they don’t lift too far off the screen due to them hitting the bonnet.

Halfords charge £2.99 to fit, so i am looking at about £28 fitted. i could most probably get the wipers cheaper, £15-20ish off ebay and have a go at fitting them myself, i just don’t know how easy they are to fit, diy.

Dead easy to change, before you even start just put the wipers into the maintenance position and then you can pull them miles from the screen.

To get into maintenance mode, switch off engine, and with the key in the position where all the warning lights are, push the wiper stalk down as if you want a single wipe and then let go. The wipers will move upto the A pillar and stop. Now remove key, swap blades and voila its done.

Tried Tesco wipers last June for the passenger side, as I was in the UK mainland for a short trip (no where else was open on a bank holiday) & it is still are working fine @ £3.00 each - special offer normal price was £6.00!

Don't care if it only lasts a year!

I won't be able to get more as there is no Tesco over here!
