tbh dont put HID's on your car unless you have projector headlights. The beam scatter is horrible

Although i do have a set of Phillips daylight HID's going ;)

There's a guy selling kits on here in the for sale section for £40 I'd like a set after going from proper xenons sp from my 182, seen juegos van with hids and looked cool - MOT issues though I think :-/

Just look for your bulb type, then the kit on eBay the same. Most you just buy it then yell them the fitment.

Matt

The kit being sold on here are a great fit on the vrs or so they say on the thread I'll be getting a 6k h7 kit soon I hope

i got the 6000k H7r kit for my 2005 fabia, no probs with them yet. good beam pattern and no stops/flashes since fitting. also didnt bring any dash lights up.

i dont know why beam scatter and glare are always mentioned because ive seen so many hid kits installed in cars three in my house lol and all are excellant, no glare at all and easy to drive towards at night just like a normal car. tbh i find "real" hids more of an issure, more times ive been blinded by audis mercs and bmws, the glare is ridiculous, like it really is, you find yourself skwinting (spell check lol) and looking the other way.

hid kits are perfectly fine and perform exactly the same as "real" xenons :)

and no MOT issues as yet, you will pass no problem providing your alignment is right. just dont knock it off during fitment.

I had a set on my old car and tbh i think expected to much really..... they were ok, deffo brighter but not as much id hoped for emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Could someone please link me to a eBay auction for HID's that will fit a 04 vRS?

I've also heard that some kits will put the bulb dash light on. Is that true? How do you know if a kit will cause that or not?

Is it a H7 kit that I'm after? How does the low and high beam work with HID kits? Are they separate bulbs as standard or what?

I have a set of 6k H7 HID's I wasnt sure weather to install them on my VRS but I am really tempted! The only thing that worry's me is the bulbs melting the headlight mirror as I know they can get very hot?!

i have h7 6000k on my fabia 2 monts ago

just swap them with normal h7 for mot and back again same day.

becuose i drive 100 miles a day after 17.00 i defo need hid

i recently put a 6000K HID kit into my fabia from here http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk (H7R ones) They have been fine with nobody flashing me.

Easy to fit took all of 10 minutes and no warning light.

Out of interest, is anyone able to get a picture of the beam pattern from a drivers eye view with HIDs?

My dad has bought off this comany a few times before, and seen as we were only down the road, we went to collect them. Now that I have found this seller again, think this is who I am going to buy some off for my car.

I must admit I'm very tempted by these

IMO their argument is reasonable and rational. Sadly, there is a massive grey area between their "Legal rationale" and what is accepted every day on the streets. You can be insured having declared you have a HID kit. There are no real checks and balances. And you can pass an MOT with a HID kit replacing the halogen bulbs. As it stands, no-one is likely to be called or challenged over this. Lowest common denominator wins. It would be expensive to require MOT stations to be capable of accurately measuring glare and overspill from lights. So we don't do it... :(

I'm not "anti-HID-kit". But with older models of car, I have concerns over the suitability of rebased HID bulbs plonked into a knackered refractor headlight.
