Octavia II Parking Sensor Problems

Featured Replies

Hello...some help please...there is an intermittant problem with the parking sensors with my Octavia estate...when I put it into reverse there is a high pitched sound instead of the usual tone confirming the sensors are on.

Has anyone had the same problem? Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks guys

get scan if genuine factory sensors

it will tell you which one is faulty

I have the same problem, and the local Skoda dealership are replacing a faulty sensor under warranty. If you get it scanned, it'll tell you which one.

Ive got very similar issue

Mind randomly go off as if somthing is behind when it isnt. Took it in to dealer 2times .. 2nd time was a few days pior to warentee running out.. they basically told me to bolox / with a bad customer service to boot, With it being intermittant it has to happen when they are with the car.. They have already worked on the car with out hearing them go off.. why couldnt they have just sorted it! ***kers

Contacted S-UK.. they got back to me same day (thursday) last week. not heard from then since to what they are gona do..

Parking sensors can be a pain to sort out, faults can occur at different times for example if its been raining or temprature etc, The prob the dealer has is if they put it on the vas 5051 and do a guided fault find and there isnt any faults stored and they then go into self diagnosis and test the sensitiverty of each indervidual sensor for distance readings etc and they all fall into the correct readings what can they do? Put a full set of sensors in at a cost of aprox £80.00 for each sensor, i think not. It could be a wiring fault a control unit fault a sensor fault etc. You cant repair something thats not broke! so if it didnt fail when the dealer had your car in what can they do cos they dont have magic balls to look into!. also reading your post if you went in to the dealers with the same atitude as you are displaying on your post you cant blame them for not going the extra mile to help you.
