New car Excitement! PICS NOW

Featured Replies

Looks like I'm off to collect an 06 black vrs tomorrow night, 71k fsh. 181bhp/328ft lb - custom JBS mapped, forge fmic, helix clutch and smf, full milltek, pd160 intake, 312 drilled brakes, full leather heated interior, 17" Spyders, eibachs, Allard EGR bypass, Jabba ARB, Momo strut brace. Bodywork and interior look mint! The best thing is the guy selling it is incredibly decent, not at all chavvy and a real stickler for looking after the car by the sounds of it, he's even driving up to meet me at Carlisle. He has a folder full of docs for all the fitting and servicing etc. I think £5750 seems pretty reasonable?

Only things I can see myself doing is getting some coilovers, rear drilled discs and maybe a PD150 turbo or even just the Garrett pd130 to replace the KKK. Could go for a big mouth front to get more air in the fmic but not sure. Hmmmm possibilities... pics to come!

It's pretty good yeah, I paid £5,000 with mine at 59,000 with the 60,000 service done that very day. Mine had pretty much all the big mods in my sig but I'd absolutely love the brakes, leather interior and Spiders. I know I have a uprated clutch but he couldn't remember the make, I also dunno if I have a SMF or not. :( I'm about to spend £1,200 on a leather re-trim so in that respect it's a bargain. If you fancy swapping wheels let me know, they suit the vRS really, really wheel (I've had nothing but positive comments) but I've always wanted a set of Spiders.

Also if you have a black front bumper I'd be up for a swap as I only have a little Seat inter-cooler and the cut out really isn't necessary. I just want mine to look more 'standard' (ish). :)

Yeah, I looked at that one you've got hold of. The price is quitee high for an 06 with that mileage but I figured for a mint car with heated leather mods to such a high standard and all the options except xenons it was a fair price. I'll keep in mind your offer about the wheels. I like them but they wouldn't look right unless my car was lowered a bit more and I'd have to change the colour I think. The bumper proposition is interesting but unfortunately I live in Glasgow so a bit inconvenient. Like your plans for the car though, it'll look great when its all done!

Oh and I understand your excitement, I went to view my car a few weeks back and didn't go back to collect it until a week later and it was a seriously long wait. :giggle: The vRS is the first decent/nice car I've ever owned so I'm spoiling it, my only previous car that I personally owned was a 1.2 8v Corsa that I stripped as much weight out as possible including all seats except mine, all carpets, interior, spare wheel (etc) and literally used the throttle as a ON/OFF switch, it was painfully slow but lowered on coilovers and other handling goodies so was actually pretty fun! I had to strategically leave a massive gap between me and the car I was attempting to overtake, gunning it at the precise time to reach him by the time there's no on coming cars to get around him. Ah, fun times... With the vRS you can just give it half throttle to charge past, I'm so used to the power now and I can't imagine driving without it!

The vRS is a superb car and you will love it. :) This forum has helped me a lot too in the short time (a month) I've been on here. Welcome along. :)

I'd be willing to drive up if it came to it, I've been trying to get a standard bumper for ages now with little to no luck, even more so if you decided to swap the wheels too. :giggle: I'm sure you will lower it on coilovers soon... ;)

The Forge FMIC is a lot taller than the Seat one so it would benefit from a bigger area, with the Seat one it would fit perfectly in the original bumper vent so I'm not sure why he decided to cut it up. I do really like it but I think it looks silly unless you have an inter-cooler that will take advantage of it. :S

Hah! Aye, my thinking too! Not sure about the Turbo yet as insurance is £550 as things stand. Was really surprised to find that when I told Adrian Flux where I really live now (Glasgow) the premium didn't change... used to have my car registered and insured at my dad's house because he's up in the middle of nowhere and car theft is non existent. When I tried the same details with camparison sites and changed the address the prices went up about 30% across the board. Another big up for Adrian Flux!

Just back up the road, it had a briskoda sticker in the back window so I wonder if the old owner is still on here. Have to say its a bit of a difference from my rover 25 :)

And... cruise control, where have you been all my life made the motorway so pleasant to deal with. Its the first car I've bought that I really wanted and I'm exceedingly chuffed. Will get some pics up tomorrow hopefully.

Glad you're happy with your purchase Dougie

Look forward to seeing the pics.

It's the usual pish scottish weather just now and I'd rather get dry pics... will get some up soon anyway.

Looks good, I looked at the video the owner made for the sale. Ride height looks good too I think with Eibach's, good job as my 17" wheels are going on this week, and I have Eibach's also.

Looks cracking Dougie! B)

Agreed! THE best colour :D

Thanks lads, I'm still stopping to look at it for a minute every time I get out.

The ride height looks fine though I'm still considering a set of coilovers. My only reservations about it are the extra noise of the Single Mass Flywheel and how heavy the clutch is. I've also noticed that the gear stick can be a bit sticky like it doesn't want to come out of gear. Otherwise it's night and day compared to the old Rover 25 :)

Agreed! THE 2nd best colour :D

Agreed - just behind race blue!

That's a very tidy looking vRS. The right wheels, LCR splitter, sensible ride height - OEM+ at it's best.

And the leather is just the icing on the cake. Beautiful. Enjoy it!

UN BE-F%^KING-LIEVABLE!!!! The car was mint, not a scratch,,, then 2 days after I buy it I come out, get in, notice my left mirror seems off and I can't get it adjusted back to the correct place with the wee controller. Get out and notice the mirror has shifted forward slightly. Some swine has clipped the o/s mirror and scuffed the paint on it :( Mental note to fold the mirrors in every night. Any thoughts how much a bodyshop would want to spray a mirror?

I'd go onto scottishvag.com and send Touch-ups (got their own section on the site - they're based in Polmadie) a PM.
