vRS Rear Exhaust Chrome

Featured Replies

Is the rear exhaust chrome trim integral with the vRS exhaust, or is it user replaceable.

If not removeable, any ideas how I can get the caked-on black grunge off it?

thanks

AFAIK, it's welded on.

I would like to found out how to clean it too!

I've used Brasso on our two Fabia vRS's and it usually gets rid of all the soot etc...

Cheers

Done most of it now with chrome cleaner and scouring pads, and lots of aching arms and fingers.

Can't seem to get the last 3mm inside the mouth of the trim but at least looks presentable.

Did wonder if Oven cleaner might do it, as similar to baked on deposits.

Auto glym Machine cleaner and Fairy powershot together, jet wash, then a scouring pad with tcut, then metal polish and bobs your uncle.

Get some very fine wire wool on it in conjunction with chrome cleaner, itll sort it.

Just spray the tip matte black!

I wouldn't use oven cleaner because it's basically acid, and if it runs back into the backbox it'll cause havoc with rustage!

My old corsa had a blue backbox. B)

It was rusty, but I didn't have any black high temperature paint, so used sky blue instead.
