Thanks.

Does it even make a difference?

Does it even make a difference?

To answer my own question by reading on the shell website.... NO!

all it does is "cleans the fuel injectors and reduces harmful build-up"

You can buy products that can do that anyway.

I won't be buying any unless its the same price as my usual supermarket forecourt!

Does it even make a difference?

I tried it!

Once!

if you have remapped your car then it is better to use v-power

I use it , it does make a mpg difference , my car is mapped tho but it does better miles than tesco 99

what about the fuel save stuff does that work?

I`m pretty sure jason runs supermarket fuel in his mongrel, at 275bhp!

I use it, since as said, same as chucking millers or something in, and it costs about the same, but saves me doing it myself.

I use it , makes my lumpy idle smoother :giggle:

When I got my Fabia Vrs, I used it all the time, but have gone back to supermarket stuff.

Try to run it near dry and fill up about once a month with V Power, to clear out the injectors!

But I do always feel that it drives slightly smoother, never really tried what the fuel economy is like though!

I might chuck £30 in as its the day before the RR day. :D Knowing my luck it will knock 15bhp off..... :dull:

luckily my local station is doing the promotion on Friday. :D

According to SCN, the normal (Fuel save) diesel has a higher Cetane number than V-power.

what does everyone think about bp ultimate, it has cetane rating 51 compared to v power at 49 i believe. would think bp is better too.

I topped up with V-Power today and it seems to be a lot smoother and just feels like a nicer car, I dunno if it's my imagination or what but I can certainly notice something.

Many thanks for the information, I'll take advantage of that!

I usually use V-Power unleaded in my AUB 1.4 16v petrol. It does make a difference - certainly a bit better acceleration and fuel economy (although I suspect not sufficiently increased fuel economy to make up for the dearer purchase price). The notorious surging tickover with this engine is less prevalent and overall it runs better. Just lucky that I don't do a lot of miles otherwise I think the cost would be more of a factor. I think anyway that this engine is meant to run on RON98 rather than RON95 and that this is the only way to achieve the nominal 100 bhp power rating.

Good Stuff Thanks...

I only use Shell and wouldnt use anything else, I put V Power in know and again for a treat for the VRS, But fuel economy with shell or BP is much better than supermarket fuel (Thats my opinion any way!)

I notice if i floor it, that it leaves my tank a hell of a lot faster...

I always use v-power+double dose of millers. It really cuts down on the amount of smoke that comes out of the exhaust compared to using standard diesel!!!!! :giggle:
