Tech help required!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I took my Fab vrs into dennis horton today, to get the knocking sorted, was an o/s/f anti roll bar link which the replaced under warranty, all OK.... however I asked to have a testdrive with the tech, and demonstrated a fault..

When in 2/3/4th gear, at around 1500-2000rpm, i put my foot on the acc pedal and then take it off again, and then put it back on, not harshly, just normal and the car jerks forward, the only way to describe it is as though like an auto when that changes gear, and it jerks... I demonstrated the fault to the tech and then upon handing the keys over he said he wasnt sure if it was a characteristic of the vehicle, or what, and they would need the vehicle in the week to fully diagnose, He said he plugged the diagnostic equipment in, but nothing showed up....

Also, I was on my way home, and when putting my foot on the acc pedal, around 1500rpm it sounded like a tractor, so I took it to my friend, and the airbox and pipe was loose, so he resecured it, now I dont know weather its in my head or what but some advice needed on a turbo - when revving it up, obviously the engine revs and you can hear the turbo whistle, but when the engine revs go down does the rubo "de whistle" itself - is this normal?

Sorry for the long post,

thanks in advance! :S

Without sounding dumb what is that lol

They said they checked all recalls tho and if this is A known concern then why did they not say anything?

Because it's widely seen as a "feature", rather than a fault.

It's easy enough to check. Take the vacuum hose off the EGR, and plug it with something (Golf tee/whatever. Doesn't matter what, as long as it's airtight). Then drive it to see if the problem goes away.

then leave it this way.
