Xenon replacement

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2006 Fab vRS with factory xenon's and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much these cost to replace when they go? I'm guessing it's not cheap. Is it a DIY job?

No idea how easy they are to replace but I was told the cost around £140 ea (info may be wrong though).

My mate just had to replace his on his Focus ST, dealer wanted near £150 each, he got a pair for 40 off ebay, seem to be just as good, who knows how long they'll last though :giggle:

Should be changed as a pair, to maintain colour balance!

You'll find cheaper ones on ebay, But the Philips are OEM quality.

Those on the link are a good price.

How do you rate the VRS xenons?

Well worth the £500 I paid for them!

I'm easy about the xenon's, but every time I drive a car with normal headlights I immediately notice the difference when I get back into the Fab. It's a real shame they aren't Bi-xenon though. sometimes I also find the beam is too low. I have talked to the dealer about this who told me the lights are self-leveling and cannot be adjusted. You don't see too many Fabs with xenon's, so it's nice to have something unusual!

Are the ones in the link the correct ones for the Vrs?? SWMBO's need changing and that seems a goodly price!

I've always found mine too low as well. And they are also at their legal maximum height! :(

The dealer's wrong..... They can be adjusted but they need doing by their diagniostic terminal or someone with VAG-COM etc.... Our dealer adjusted one on the wife's car last year as it just failed the MOT for being slightly out. I also had mine raised to the legal limit when i first got the car new as they were quite low.... It was discussed a lot at the time as i think they are set quite low in the factory, (Was about 4 years ago now).

Cheers

Dave.
