Door handles won't spring back shut!

Featured Replies

My door handles on Fabia won't spring back shut when opened door, therefore door won't close tidy and you have to push the handle back in to shut the door tidy. Annoying.

Any one have/had this problem? How do I fix it?

Never heard of this problem before. Are they just sticking or has something actually broken? You suggest more than one is affected - which suggests it's just some lubrication required - since having more than one break at the same time would be very coincidental..

My old polo had this problem, especially when it got colder.

In the end I took the handle out (2 min job) and covered every movable part in WD40, put it all back together, problem solved B)

My rear ones do this sometimes, I think it is due to lack of use. A good lube should help I guess.

my driver handle does this now and again i have noticed, havnt bothered looking into it yet

My driver's door did this for the first time last week. I put it down to less frequent use of the car. It didn't stop me closing the door, though I was perplexed enough to frown at it and open/close it several times until it behaved as knows it should. :)

Only the passenger side does it everytime but the others are starting. My car gets used hard.

I'll try the WD40 for now then means it's not actually a common problem.
