Torque Steer.....

Featured Replies

I think sometimes its quite difficult to keep the car pointed straight ahead when really put the pedal to the metal..., partly due to the Torque maybe?

It clearly gets the adrenaline flowing in all honesty, and in some case has scared me lol.....

Is there anyway that this can be reduced???

Would a LSD cause under steer?

Have you checked the bushes, lower link arms, geometery, and tyre pressures recently? My bushes were worn and a lower link arm broken and would pull all overplacethe b

From Quaifes site

In practice this significantly reduces torque steer, understeer and steering ‘snatch’ in front wheel drive applications compared to a plate style limited slip differential.

On the road and track this translates into reduced wheelspin and torque steer, less understeer during cornering and improved straight line acceleration. On the track the Quaife ATB cuts lap times dramatically and improves standing quarter performance.

I own a Z4M mate, the VRS is the wifes..

Hows your tyres?

his is obviously the BLT engine unlike yours

Cant say I've ever noticed torque steer in the vRS. But then again it does have the lesser engine :( :giggle:

haha only playing :p

LOL - I thought I was the one who wouldnt let it drop???

lsd doesnt reduce tork steer...

Mines torque steers and I don't have the super BLT sandwich engine :( not as bad now I have two new front tyres :)

That just confirms it then - not ready for a powerful car

Way I see it you have 3 options...I've attached an image to this so you can see.

1.) Rotate the wiggle stick 360 degrees - if this still isnt enough of a reduction proceed to step 2

2.) Unclip the torque steer amplifier, this will give you a drastic reduction in torque steer, tbh i'll be suprised if you can get any at all...but still if this isnt enough proceed to the 3rd option ( you wont be disappointed)

3.) The torque steer connector is the main problem here tbh, just throw that pipe away and I guarantee it will fix your problem :) HTH

EDIT: Disclaimer - I accept no responsibility if you're daft enough to try the above...

I'm confused, which way do I rotate the wiggle stick? :wonder:

haha good point, if you rotate it the same way as the earth spins you should be on to a winner, but its not too important, especially if you've done the flux capacitor mod like me...

Back on topic,

i've got the quaife in mine, wouldnt really say it cures the torque steer though.

LOL - I thought I was the one who wouldnt let it drop???

im just kidding lol :)

s'ok im a closet BLT fan rly
