just like to say alloy sumps and truck parts dont mix

on the way to work today i hit a landing leg foot off a truck in the road it wiped out the sump dumping all the oil from the motor under the car and all over the back of it.

within 10 secs of hitting it the oil light cam on!

but i managed to turn the motor off straightaway getting out of the car to find oil dripping out the undertry

but what a job my skoda dealer did for me

they got the car at about 1pm and i was driving home in it at 5.30 pm

you cant ask for much better service than that

wish all car dealer gave service like that

glad it was sorted quickly... your the first fabia owner ive heard joining the FSR club (forced sump removal).. i was dreading something like this as we have roadworks with lots of raised metalwork at the moment.. and my car is lowered so have been taking it easy.

they replaced the sump and gasket they way it lifted the car up i thought it might have been worse

I was traveling up the motor way with some friends in thier car a number of years ago when one of them feet of a landing leg come off, it went under the rear wheel and flicked up. It come through our windscreen and ended up sitting on the handbrake. So close, it scared the bejesus out of me. Police come to see us sat ont he hard shoulder with no screen, took the offending article and buggered off never to be seen or heard from again.
