Which steering rack do i need?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Need a new rack for my vrs and have been given the option of 3 refurbed ones.

- Standard

- EPS one with 1 egg shaped thing

- Or EPS with 2 egg shaped things.

^ Thats litrally what the sheet said... there from remy but i can get a teeny discount via family.

Just wondering if from what ive said anyone can understand and point me in the correct way!

Thanks.

Craig.

Having got quite intimate with the odd steering rack in the past 2 days I cannot for the life of me think what the egg shaped thing means. To my knowledge there are only 2 racks - ones up to 2003 where the angle sensor was part of the loom and plugged into the PAS pump, and from 2003+, a different rack was used which fits the same (as I found out....) but uses a different style of angle sensor which has a connector on it, meaning no loom fiddling come change.

Due to the above, I now have a very low mileage (23,000 miles) OEM P.A.S rack from 2003+ available to buy.......

Anyone link me to a steering rack to fit my 04 fabia vrs.

Seems to be alot of options.

There are only 2 options. :) There is the older one which I have fitted to my car, where the loom for the angle sensor is integral, and the newer one which I have a lo mileage example in a box at home and is available to buy..... (with loom which clicks on to angle sensor and is not integral)
