TDI BHP question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Yet another 'noob' question here:

I've noticed that there are various different levels of power output quoted for the Octavia Mk1 1.9TDI, and I don't know which mine is.

It's a 2003 (53 plate) Elegance, but I don't know if that narrows it down enough.

I've been looking at the different ones on carfolio.com

I assumed it was the 108bhp as it's surely too quick to be the 88bhp and I don't think it's the 'PD' engine, which I believe is 128bhp.

Can anyone enlighten me and drag me out of the dark pit of ignorance?

The 110 TDi ran until 2004 IIRC, but the 130PD was introduced in in May 2003.

What colour is the TDi badge on the tailgate?

Read the engine code from the sticker in the boot of your car and you will know everything about your engine. The sticker is located under the carpet on the left hand side of the boot floor.

AGR, ALH- 90bhp

AHF, ASV- 110bhp

ASZ- 130bhp

Red "i" in the TDi badge and 5-speed box = 110bhp

Red "Di" in the badge and 6-speed box = 130bhp

AFAIK no Elegance had the 90bhp engine.

The red lettering should also be replicated on the engine cover (if fitted). This of course assumes the car has not been de-badged / re-ended, etc.
