Flickering Petrol Gauge & Temp Gauge

Featured Replies

The needles flicker on my temp gauge and petrol gauge is this a sign of the bulb/lamp going or is it a short somewhere? Only seems to be noticed on long journeys

Anyone?

If it's the needle lights, they are LEDS and soldered directly to the instrument panel. Could also be noisy slip rings in alternator, or sticking carbon brush in alternator regulator assembly. Would be worth removing the instrument cluster (2 screws) and checking the connector is not loose.
