Genuine Skoda Decorative Side Sill Covers...

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

From previous posts I know some of you see side sill covers as unnecessary bling :giggle: but it something Ive always put on my cars it doesnt seem to take long before the kids start scrathing the paint up with their climbing in and out.... to me, they also add a touch of additional class too. :giggle:

They are available in either in either all black or the ones that I have; black with brushed stainless silver inserts. I picked them up when I was in Germany and they advised buying the fitting templates also (think this would have added about 15 euros to the cost). However, I didnt buy them and had no issue with fitment. Its a 15 minute job overall.

Anyway, thought I'd put a few photos up as when I originally looked, photos were a bit thin on the ground...

Yes, I think Allams can now supply them and others will probably follow. :) Not sure on cost though. I paid 70 euros iirc.

Thanks both of you.

Mike

Yes just washed mine and thought about getting those very items to help the paint from getting scuffed.

£54.80 + P&P or collect in person!

Take it the set is for all four door sills and not fronts only? ----- as if.............. There is also mention of a template, although probably not a neccessity, is that extra ?

Why is is never straightforward :dull:

They look good, FocusZtec. Do they come with adhesive pads or strips on the underside?

Templates are extra, yes. They are a separate part with different codes.

They come with sticky pads attached to the underside of the parts. If you look closely in the second photo you can just see the blue bits you have peel off the sticky bits in the footwell.

Very natty looking; feeling I will need a set.

However, I can't see these Sill covers listed in any literature or on SUK website. Is this RRP or Allams's special Briskoda discount price?

Is there a plain version without the ally insert; therefore cheaper and slightly more utilitarian?

The RRP is £74.

James is fitting a set to mine when it arrives shortly.

The other option is an identicle looking set but with black instead of silver insert - I believe the black piece has the brushed effect like the silver Yeti version and I 'think' that the black one's part code possibly ends in 003 instead of 002. Hope that is some help.

Many thanks. I'll try my dealer (or Allams) out with the part numbers.

I fancy a plain sill cover, back inserts would be quite cool as I'm trying not to make my Yeti too 'bling'.

Good call! I think the all black version on Tangerine paint would look good.

Quick update!!

Made an error. The correct price is £54.80 plus VAT so they are £64.39 inc VAT. I mashed the wrong button on the stupid over complicated calculator.

Sorry about that chaps.

They retail at £74 inc VAT.

Can you confirm please - are they a 2 or 4 door set? ( please don't use the calculator to answer :giggle:)

Thanks.

It doesn't state either way on the EPAC system. I only shows a front set (2) in the photo but it doesn't actually confirm either way. I've got a set on order so once they are here I can give you a definitive answer. Should be here in the next day or so.

The part code refers to the four piece set I have and uploaded photos of above.

Thanks, I'm off to Specsavers right now B)

I ordered a set last week after my parts man, Steve confirmed they are available in UK.

Once I get them a piccy perhaps is called for.

Just a thought....

I bought my present car new and didn't want to risk marking the sill so went to a firm who does body decals and the like. http://viscount-international.co.uk/ He made up four protective, 3M type material, clear film pieces, which he cut off the roll and fitted them. I guess he made templates up - didn't see him do it. Been there two years, good as new...and no heel digs on the sill. The bloke who does it is a genius, they fit like they were made for it.

Can't rememberr exactly how much but was less than £50 OTOH.

Or maybe use clear "Helicopter Tape" (Google it) and do it yourself.

Found reference to the Sill covers on page 7 of this (early) yeti Accessories brochure, which is still available on SUK website as here;- http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/brochures/yetiAccessoriesENG_0609.pdf

... go to page 7 "Black Door Sill covers (no photo) KDA 630 001".

I'm thinking these will be similar to those available for a Roomster in that they are plain black with no insert; truly utilitarian, as opposed to smart. I'll try and check the price with my dealer that will no doubt give a clue.

I'm also having the decorative rear bumper trim fitted as well to protect the rear bumper.
