Oil leak

Featured Replies

My 01 new to me three weeks ago Fabia Classic is drinking oil, i changed the oil three days after buying it and since have put in about 6 litres, there is no evident leak ie pool under parking and i find it hard to imagine it burning that much oil, , the new filter is secure and leakless, i think, there is no oil to leak at present, anyone heard of this before?

Are you sure your putting it in the right place?

Something is very wrong there indeed, get it looked at.

i doubt this is a possibility but have you removed the undertray and checked the sump? possibly the sump plug is leaking and its all lying on the on the tray which would suggest no oil being left on the ground. im not sure if you car has an undertray im just surmising.

I guess this would be excessive even for 1.4 16v piston ring failure. Some road surfaces make oil disappear, it's best looked at after rain.

Might be crankshaft rear oil seal, and the clutch bell housing will be filling up with oil. 6 litres is a lot of oil going missing, and if it was piston and bore wear, it would be shoving out a cloud of smoke from the exhaust.

Would be awful to drive though if 6 litres went into the clutch bell housing?

Destroyed the engine?? if you kept it topped up and checked the dipstick regular.

Did you discover where the oil was leaking from. ??
