I just bought these as pictures and they are 5x112, offset e42, which on test fit yesterday seemed to fit ok..........................but I'm sure someone else may confirm.

They are Audi 16", 5x112 Et42.

Thanks.

These should be fine.

They are slightly less offset, so will sit more outboard, than your OE rims but then I'd guess they are 6.5J or (the same as OE) 7J so will be fine; there is plenty of clearance.

Of interest I used to run 17" 7.5J ET45 Audi rims and 18" 8J ET45 B14s on my Octavia II totally successfully.

I'm curious though. You say they will be easy to collect. The seller is in Consett, Co. Durham and you are in Falkirk - that's miles apart. Isn't it?

I regularly head down past Durham to visit friends in the Tees area.

Thanks for that

Thought there must be something like that. A68 I trust; or do you prefer the A697?

Just bought a new set of 18” Audi S5 replica alloys for £380 from Sheldon’s of Manchester. I suspect they had cheaper wheels too as well as possibly second hand ones. Only real difference is my A4 is Quartz Grey. Come complete with Audi centres

So which Winter Tyres are you getting Amanda?

I had my Vredestein Wintrac Extremes fitted this afternoon. I couldn’t get the Nextremes (latest version) for reasonable money.

The interesting thing so far is the steering feels very light and the suspension feels very comfy! My car has the ADS system and I had to check I hadn’t switched to the comfort setting it has made that much of a difference.

Both our cars have winter tyres on...

Both feel softer and much quieter..So far I'm impressed

What tyres are you running Chris? I was very surprised to feel the Extremes where as soft as the Snowtracs2s on my Sedici.

I bought set of these wheels last week, (the ones on the OP link.....

I trial fitted at the weekend and the rears are fine, but the front do stick out a little.... (they are 7J instead of 6.5J)

Don't foresee any problems with clearance or anything, so just need to get winter tyres now !

I think they suit the car pretty well, gives it a poor mans scout look. ;-)

A1 or A68 if I'm coming from Edinburgh. A74 and A66 sometimes if I'm coming from Falkirk and the weather isn't too bad. It can get quite hairy over the A66 sometimes, but it's absolutely stunning and I am a photographer in the little spare I have.

Drat. Family life intervened and I missed them by the time I got home. Only went for £68!

Seems quite complicated trying to decide which winter tyres to buy !

Doesn't seem to be the ideal tyres..... was going to go for Dunlop winter sport 3D, but seem to get mixed reviews.

You will always get some mixed reviews depending on the car and person, some tyres work better depending on suspension set up etc.

All you can do it read and research what you can then go for what fits into your budget.

But yes tyre choice is never an easy choice, if it helps I'm probably going for the same as they have a good test result and fairly well priced

I regularly drive over the A66 as I can't stand the jams on the M62 and bits of the A1 (all roadwork related) and I adore the views. often I cut up through Middleton (near High Force) and enjoy not only the breathtaking landscape, but also the twistys :) It adds 30 mins to my trip (based on the M62 and A1 being clear) and gives me a joy that just can't be bought :) :)

I haven’t tried them through a winter, but the Dunlop Maxx GTs look as though they would be worse than useless in snow or icy conditions. There are almost no transverse forms on the tyre and the rubber seems hard as nails. Sheldon’s reckon it is the best tyre for the Audi though, well, at least during the none winter months.

Here is a shot of my standard car on OE wheels and summer tyres and the second piccie is with my new cheapo Winter alloys and Winter tyres. Problem is, the cheapo replica wheels look better than the OE imho :( :D

Sorry the second picture is so pants, but it was taken with my phone in a darkish car park
