Fiscon Basic+ Questions

Featured Replies

Just fitted a Fiscon Basic+ to my Octy with Stream MP3 HU and Dension Gateway 300 fitted. I know I only needed the Basic, but, who knows, one day I might upgrade to a Bolero

Wiring at the moment goes

Car > Dension > Fiscon > Stream MP3

I did it this way as the harness adapter for the Dension didn't seem to pass through all of the connections on the second small connector block with the TEL connections on it.

Has anyone else fitted both, and did they do it this way round?

Also, in the instructions it says that the E-MFA should display remaining fuel in Litres. The display though says 'Fuel g' which I assume means gallons. Kind of irrelevant really as it reads 253 at the moment!

I know I have a full tank (52l according to the Dension) but does anyone else suffer from this or

  • Is it a symptom of having fitted the Dension and the Fiscon?
  • Is it a known issue on Octy's?
  • Does anyone else have this giving a sensible number?
  • I haven't coded the car for the kit being fitted, but all telephony functions seem to work. What difference does coding the car make as I can make and receive calls via the maxidot etc? (Unless the car had a phone kit fitted by a previous owner and the coding was not put back when it was removed)
  • I haven't coded the car since I removed the Nexus, so it is still coded for Navigation, will this have any effect as everything seems to work other than a strange fuel remaining reading?

A lot of questions, but I don't want to go on a wild goose chase trying to narrow this down.

Thanks

Not touched this at all and I am now down to just over half a tank.

Dension reports 31L of fuel remaining, Fiscon now says 7 gallons, which by my reckoning is spot on!

Do these things self callibrate or is this just a total fluke and when I fill up again it will read 253 gallons again?

I will keep my eye on this as the tank goes down and see if the readings match up to the end of the tank.
