Octavia play CDRs?

Featured Replies

Hi all, my friend is in the process of buying a used Octavia estate, 18 months old, which I assume has the CD player it was fitted with. She has been advised that it will not play CDRs, only shop bought CDs. She likes to make compilation CDs of her own music and play those. Can anyone confirm whether or not it's true that her own burned compilations on CDRs will not play?

Many thanks for any info, Andy

Not sure to be honest - all I can say is that I play CDRs in mine (02 Vrs).

The vRS 6 disc changer will play Audio CD's on CD-R discs, however it will not play MP3 Compilations, or in my experience anything on a CD-RW.

I have no idea about the single disc HU's though :)

Will play CDR's fine, the only thing they dont play are CDRW disks.

Thanks everyone - she said it plays six, so I guess it's that one, and I'll reassure her she should be able to play them. Many thanks folks.

My vRS had the single slot Symphony and the six disc changer, and both will play CDRs, but CDRWs seem to be a no-no.

mines a bit hit and miss, must the format of the music, but generally as above

Mine played CDR's when burn't as CD's fine but not MP3's or WMA's, also she will soon find that the Octy's standard setups sound quality is not up to much.

Changing the speakers does help but if she really likes her music the only answer is a change of head unit. Fortunatly in an Octy Mk1 it's a very easy change.

Cheers
