Dim sidelights

Featured Replies

Both sidelights on my Elegance are very dim to the point of being useless. One bulb looks a little dark so I've bought a pair of replacements but yet to fit them. I suspect it's more of a bad earth problem but don't know where to check?

Anyone else had this problem on the mk1 Fabia?

maybe the bulbs are going? you can measure the voltage to confirm the earth problem.

When I bought my Octy, I felt the same way about the sidelights. I bought some uprated headlight bulbs, which came with free sidelight bulbs. When I was changing the headlights, I discovered the sidelight bulb glasses to be literally black. Put in the new bulbs first, particularly since the sidelight earth point is probably also the headlight earth (and near the bottom of the reflectors.

I'd echo the "black bulb" issue - mine were going black when I took them out to substitute LEDs, after 25k

Both my bulbs look pretty black so hopefully it's knackered bulbs and new ones will solve the problem ;)
