First build week forecast - 3rd week

Next one (a week ago) - 50th - yeah this year

It's was completely unexpected for me. Will see.

Ordered L and K 140cr hatch on 4th October

Just been given a forecast of week 16 - middle of April

On that basis delivery will be around middle of May

But told that this date was unconfirmed so it may be brought forward

I've heard similar. Pity Skoda wouldn't just come clean as to why some models you'll wait nearly a year to get, others 6 months, and on the continent a heck of a lot less time than here.

According to HJ in the telegraph over the last couple of weeks this is all because of the strong Euro vs the £. The profit margins are much higher on models sold on the continent and therefore the UK is at the back of the queue. This goes for all continental manufacturers not just the VAG group apparently.

There may be some light at the end of the tunnel...

Dealer advised me today that my order is now showing a CONFIRMED Build Week 1

Hope to see it 'in the flesh' sometime in early/mid-Feb.

Assuming this to be the case, is it possible the dealer can register it on an '11' plate and, once I've paid for it, baby-sit it for a couple of weeks, on their premises, until 1st March? (Dealer closed at time of writing).

Update.

Car was build in 50th week as Skoda say.

On ship 29 of December just arrive to Grimsby.

Collection date schedule 15 January.

After all all bad news about delivery delays heard on this forum and from my friends I'm very surprised.

I will post again when I'll see my car. Still can't believe :-)

Got a call from SUK on 30th Dec - car has been BUILT!!!

I assume during week 51, and is heading to Emden. Hope to haveit before end of Jan.
