Scart sockets

Featured Replies

Bought a DVD recorder from Sainsbury's yesterday -

If you want to record from sky and the video, then make the dvd recorder the last device before the tv, so go. sky - video - dvd - tv. However you will end up using composite signal, which will degrade on each hop.

How many scart sockets on the tv, and can at least one of them handle RGB or s-video.

Mine is just one end of scart lead into the TV and the other end into the DVD ..........

Ok , I should disregard my answer and listen to Manny.... :D

Two Scarts on the tv - one is connected to another DVD player which has Dolby 5.1 (unlike the new one) so we're keeping that. Not sure about the specs but no s-video.

ok then, best bet is to go as above then. No point in putting the dvd recorder before the vcr because you cant record commercial dvd's anyway.

Another way, retaining the best sky > dvd recorder quality would be to go vcr > sky > dvd > tv.
