vRS Snow

Featured Replies

So what's the DSG like in these slippy slidy conditions ?

Can you actually get going and keep going or should they all be left in the garage when the white stuff lays on the ground

I've been out and about in our little Mazda 2 and it was awesome in the snow, handbrake turns, powering into the turns with opp/lock on

Few more weeks for the vRS to arrive :S

Still waiting for some snow to try it out ;) Got Winter tyres on though so looking fwd to it. The DSG's are meant to be awful though as they have no 'snow' mode to allow you to change up into 2nd before starting off. Hence why i have winter tyres.

Winter tyres on both our cars..Octy and Fabia.. Both not bothered by snow at all

Mine seems to be coping well too.

Drove over to Pickering on Fri for the Roger Clark Rally scrutineering the roads had been cleared so wasn't a problem but on the way back I drove into the Sutton Bank carpark as it was covered in 100mm of snow & the VRS seemed to cope ok with it?

I looked at some Dunlop M+S tyres at the rally now a set of them on narrow wheels would be perfect but having driven on the road using similar Yokahama tyres years ago in my rallying days they are v noisy.

First interaction with the snow this morning. About 3-4 inches so nothing like up North. Car coped well considering I'm using the Dunlop Sport Maxx  Traction Control came on going around roundabout near my road and 1 or 2 other places.

Bloody washer jets froze up though which made visibility out of the windscreen a little poor.

Just dont use the accellerator and the DSG will do it for you. Once your going drive as normal. XDS is working well. Only issue i've had is my Xenon washers have stopped working.

Drove mine in the snow today, and it handled brilliantly, moving off was no problem at all, next to no wheelspin!
