Crashed into, will my car be written off?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just happend to look out the window this afternoon as a group of people standing beside there car were pointing at my car parked in the street, I wondered what was up and put my shoes, hat, gloves, scarf and jacket on (it was blowing a blizard), by the time I got out the people had jumped in there car and were about to drive away, I noticed there tyre tracks went right into the front side of my car and my indicator glass was smashed, I chapped on the window of the car and the driver got out and looked a bit sheepish (I think they were about to drive off), they said they were sorry and hadn't noticed it while reversing out a driveway opposite, we exchanged details and they went on there merry way, the damage to my car is on the drivers side, creased wing, snapped front bumper brackets, smashed indicator, snapped headlight brackets and weirdly the passenger headlight brackets are cracked too? I've tried phoning my insurace company but there not open until tomorrow, do you think it may be written off? My car is an '02 octavia vrs with 124,000 miles on the clock, it was in immaculate condtion prior to being hit,

Hope it will be fixed,

:-(

Shouldn't be a write-off that. Bad luck though :(

as insurance not open, report to police especially as they were trying to drive off!

i jut tell myself 1st thing is phone old bill......... if all else fells at least if they turn up it may keep me from doing something stupid :punch:

people that give the i didnt see it,need jabbing in the eye, a parked octavia isnt a packet of crisp is it :swear: fome pucking seople!!

good luck bud:thumbup:

Lucky you caught them, I've had 2 parked cars hit & both times whoever did it drove off. :@

wont be a write off minor damage few hundred to repair

They will repair it, will cost a fair bit though. Someone reversed into the front of mine in a transit with a tow bar. Damage looked minor but as it was his work insurance and the bumper had a slight scrape I wanted it fixing. Looks like its getting a new bumper, bumper molding, numberplate/holder and crash bar, reckon it will be neigh on £1k once its all done.

i knew i kept mine hid away for a reason :wonder: what the matter with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
