Whats the advantage of this?

Featured Replies

You need it when you remove the secondary air system, to blank off the hole in the exhaust side of the head.

If you don't know what the secondary air system is then just have a good search on the forum and you'll soon find out.

Not the same I don't think

Sounds like you have a Cone filter on and the the pipe you mean is the one which usally comes from the side of the airbox.

No your pumps still on and hasnt been removed. That little cone sits on the pipe from the secondary air system which normally goes into the airbox

There are some guides to removing it on here somewhere.

You can see the combi valve on the head in the second pic too, which is what you remove and replace with the blanking plate that you first posted about.

It's the silver disc between the intake hose and the engine cover.

Im not sure where you mean , any more pointers please .......seems these are better gone so want to get it blanked/rid off

do a search buddy you need to remove the combi valve + pipe work + pump wich is at the front of the engine near the oil filter you cant miss it

In your pic look between the engine cover and the pipe that goes to your maf the silver disc Thingy is the top of your combi valve

As Bodge said, it is a blanking plate for combi valve. A word of advice; If it ain`t broken don`t touch it. SAI is there for eco reasons, but if you removed it you will get all sort of fault codes. Some can be solved (putting resistor in SAI pump connector, ECU thinks that the pump is there) but some you cannot ( incorrect flow detected - SAI).

Best regards

Will the incorrect flow put engine warning light on all time or will it come and go and can it be mapped out so it doesn't come on

Yes it can be mapped out

I've never had a fault come up for it.

only a good system if running a standard cat and most people that want to do this mod will either have no cat or a performance cat so not needed

who cares about emmisons and eco stuff lol

OK, but if SAI system is not mapped out there`s no chance to get rid off - incorrect flow detected error at start-up. Personally I don`t like seeing that yellow MIL on the dashboard, it`s just to annoying.

only comes up after XXX amounts of starts so every XXX you will need to delete the code
