Squeeeeeeak!

Featured Replies

Oh my days, my vRS doesn't like reverse gear :(

Can anyone tell me why it makes such an almighty SQUEEEEEAK when I'm reversing onto my driveway?

It's being doing it for a little while now, but seems to be getting worse...

I had a annoying squeak a few weeks ago it was doing my head in so i took the rear calipers off and greased the pistons and greased everything else up and gave evrything a good clean and it hasn't made a noice since :thumbup:

Siezed or sticky rear caliper. Mines got one on the offside at the moment, does my nut in.

Went into the garage for mot and new rear pads and the mechanic reckons i need a new one (£180+ from skoda at trade!!)

Gonna see if another garage will rebuild it or unsieze it!

Ah... that's a bit poo.

I'll have to wait until the weather gets a bit better and get the grease out. Thanks guys

I've got this as well, although my local dealer was very honest! He checked his system and they had never replaced one since 2006! He said usually you just clean them up! So might try this when a little warmer!

Plus the mooing brakes in reverse is common problem and aparantly there is a mod on the handbrake or something, to be honest I've just lived with it!
