15" rims

Featured Replies

Righty, bought myself a Vrs and heading away to collect it in a couple of days. Bearing in mind all the comments regarding the Fabia being useless in the snow, I am thinking of getting a spare set of rims winter and occasional trips into the forests to marshal on rallies. I have access to a fairly decent supply of second hand forest tyres so I figure that is the way to go with them...

Does anyone know if I can fit 15" rims onto a VRS or am I stuck with 16's? 15" are about the most common size in rallying and 16" is by far the rarest, so I would obviously prefer to go with 15's...

If your vRS has standard brakes then 15" wheels will fit

just what I wanted to hear. No mention of uprated brakes so game on I guess

Worth noting perhaps, as far as I understand, tyres for loose surfaces (assuming forests) are very different to tyres for snow and ice. Definitely worth getting a second set of tyres, just make sure they're good for what you need.

Flip.

Yeah, forest tyres are not as good as snow/ice tyres for sure. I have been overtaken on a rally by an ancient Rover like I was sitting still and that was the difference. But, at between 5 and 10 quid a cover, I am sure I will make do until I have a bit of spare cash to buy a proper set of Vredesteins. They are a lot better than 'normal' tyres though
