Will some kind soul please tell me how to turn on the rear fog light on my 3-month-old TSI 1.4 Octavia?

I've studied the manual and have tried pulling (and pushing!) the rotary light switch in its various positions according to the manual until I feel I'm going to do it a damage! Although I don't have front fog lamps, the single rear one is a basic fitting, isn't it?

I know this must sound like a complete idiot-boy question, but I would like to know the answer and am quite at a loss by now.

in mine (with fronts) you need the main rotary switch on either sidelights or headlights. Then pull it out by about 1/4". Mine pulls out easily, don't need excessive force

+1, first step is front fogs, second is rear!

Thanks, guys. I tried it the way you described it and it works a treat!

The way I'd (wrongly) interpreted the diagram in the manual was that I had to pull the switch down and lift it somehow. It's a (rare) case of words being clearer than a diagram.

Anyhow, thanks again, and I'll drive feeling safer on motorways and in fog now.

I take it that means on motorways in fog... rather than on motorways 'and' in fog :-)
