SMF help

Featured Replies

As title really, I'm looking into getting an uprated clutch, the car is my regular run around and I know the sachs one is good. Now the confusing and extra pricey bit..

How does an SMF differ from a DMF and what are the advantages/ disadvantages of having one.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Single mass is a one piece flywheel

Dual mass is a two piece flywheel with the part bolted to the crankshaft being a different part to the clutch surface. The two parts are connected by a suspension element to absorb vibrations and cushion the take up of drive.

Thanks mate.

Is the SMF neccessary if you have a remap, or would it be required for big power?

You can run a totally standard clutch if you have a decent smooth remap.
