Hello and Welcome:D

hope your enjoying your Octy vRS,insurance will probably be the best idea as TaviaRS has said.

are gonna modify your vRS?

Speak to your dealer first if the crack has started from the edge of the windscreen. It could be a warranty claim if it has.

if not then deffo the insurance, a new screen is around 150-200 english pounds and for 50 you can have your insurance company foot the bill for a change.

if you dont have screen cover in your policy (which i doubt) and the dealer doesnt want to know then your going to have to pay full whack through autowindscreens or something simular.

Make sure they don't give you the ordinary Octy windscreen. I.E no top tint (whatever it's called)

Hello and welcome. The Octy is a cracking car in a different kind of way usually.

Do the pads as soon as you like, but get some miles on it before a remap :)

I have put 2000 miles on the clock now..... how many miles should I give it before the remap ?

Mine went in at 5000...

Some have waited a bit longer but i'm impatient :D

You could also try another Skoda dealer if you have a second local one and see what they say, especially as the crack did start at the edge.

Otherwise, it's an ins co job :)
