Knocking noise since lowered....

Featured Replies

Since winding my coilovers down at extra 15mm at the front and removing the rear adjusters the car has developed a rattaling/knocking noise when pulling away or in lower gears... no knocking or bumping sounds when moving just when under some strain

Has anyone else had this once lowered ?

Reminds me of the noise i had on my ibiza when lowered on coilovers.... that turned out to be the exhaust hitting the rear beam when it was too low...

Since people run their fabia's lower than mine was wondering if anyone else had the same noise ??

Yes same here only lowered mine 25mm and sounds like the same noises, I have no idea what it is!!

I've got the rear adjusters out on mine and when i've got weight in the back i get a similar noise, again, think it's the exhaust hitting the beam.

Next time it's in the air i'll be wrapping the beam with a bit of silicone hose to stop it knocking so loud..

It sounds more like its coming from the front of the car tho, is hard to tell

Same, front on mine as well maybe it was front passanger side???

i took the rear adjsuters out and it was knocking. Turned out to be the corner of the backbox hitting the Jabba RARB!!

I just bent the corner with a mash hammer and its been fine ever since

could be the coils of the front spring banging into each other, at least thats what has been found before, kw supply sleeves to stop this..... mine are still sat at work in the box emoticon-0136-giggle.gif .....

Try cutting down your bump stops if not already done so, if the shocks are sitting on them they make some funny noises.
