Wiper Type

Featured Replies

I'm in the market for a new set of wipers as my current one's smear the water, are a bit perished and judder etc. I currently have the standard old school style Bosch wipers with a spoiler on one of the wipers and I will definitely buy Bosch again as I believe you can't beat them for value and quality.

My question is what is better the standard wiper type or the flat aerotwin type?

I'm not an early adapter of technology and I don't buy something because it's new or because it looks good, or because it's fashionable, it has to outperform the other options if I am going to make the change. So what are the pros and cons of flat blades versus standard blades? What do you have? And how do they perform on your car in the real world?

Cheers...

Hi

I bought the Bosch aero about two years ago and they have been very good. They have never lifted from the screen and always been quiet. I got mine from Andrew Pages.

Does anyone know of some cheap places to get hold of them?

I mention this place on another wiper thread. Fabia 2000-07 - Wiperblades.co.uk

These are the Bosch ones: Bosch Aerotwin RETROFIT FLAT Wiper Blades - Wiperblades.co.uk

A few years ago I bought mine from Andrew Page and at the time were cheaper than the net. Also buying them from the shop/warehouse was better than over the net as I could easily return them if I had a problem.

The blades are quiet, never lift and look the dogs whatnots. However I find they miss 1 cm at the top and bottom of the blade.
