SWMBO is looking at a car she likes. It's an 08 Ibiza 1.4 sport with 14k on the clock.

She is test driving today. When I did a bit of reading on them I found out there is an 85ps and a 100ps 1.4 engine.

I phoned up the dealer and asked which it was, they didn't know (Honda dealer it's a trade in).

I tried parkers to see if I could get the CO2 reading but they come up the same.

Any way to tell the difference? There is nothing on the outside of the car.

I thought the engine cover might say something.

Obviously if they say it's an 85ps it might be a haggling point.

The engine code will be on the data sticker in the boot and in the service book. It will also be on the V5 (first three letters of the engine number). From that one of us could give you a definitive answer

The data sticker is in the boot and service book and show the engine power in Kilowatts. So you should see in large type xxKw. printed on the label.

As a power guide,The VRS is 96kw. 130Ps.

The thanks button disappeared when the site was revamped.

It was an 85PS.

Not rapid but a solid little car. Fine for SWMBO. She picks it up on Wed.
