Lost All Boost?

Featured Replies

Hey people,

coming home tonight i accelrated onto the bypass and started hearing a loud noise like when blow a bit paper side on make loud whistle noise and lost all boost, when try to drive it or go over 2000 rpm doesnt want to

i then drove it 5miles home and it hasnt used any oil so dont think the turbo has went as used it all,

and bit smell of burning rubber!

now home the loud whistle noise is gone but still no boost

think a boost hose has maybe went somewhere?

Yes will more than likely be a pipe has come lose or a hose has split, just check all connections are nice and tight....

Cheers mate,

If my turbo has went what other signs would I have or is there anything else can check to see if its away?

If your turbo has gone, the thing will almost guaranteed to be burning oil and there will be hellish smoke out the back as a result. In worst case scenario, when you turn it off, the engine will 'runaway' and the only thing that will stop it from running is when the conrods vent the block....

Almost certainly you've got a leaking pipe as someone else said
