Anyone recently had an 80k service carried out on their VRS?

Mine is fast approaching and will be due shortly after Christmas............................££££ ouch!

Just wanted an idea of approx likely cost, as I haven't got around to calling the local dealer yet - got a horrible feeling this one might be 'biggy'

It's relatively large being a 40k one. Since I see elsewhere you've posted "Had my 06 VRS from new and it's coming up to the 80k service soon" what did that cost you? From memory mine was £325 on my 2004vRS (addendum - that might not have been on the 2 year brake fluid change point though...). Of course I'm presuming here you correctly had your cambelt replaced at the 60k limit rather than wait for the 4 year limit...

80k service not carried out yet as I over estimated my mileage in the previous post you mention.

Cambelt already completed at 60k, so it looks as though it will be circa £325, barring any additional work required......

Should pay about 150-200 at a VAG Indy inclusive of parts, that's what mine was anyway.

whats so special about the 80k service then ?

if it doesnt include a cambelt change then other than a few extra filters what is there to bump the cost up massively ?

Unfortunately I gave all the old receipts I'd had with my previous car back to the garage when I traded it in - here's theSkoda service sheet which confirms the "few extra filters"...

so its just an air and fuel filter change on top of the normal service then ?

Mine is due February. I've been quoted £185 plus VAT by a (good) local independent.
