Defecting from SEAT to Skoda

Featured Replies

Just last night I placed my order for my first Skoda, I plumped for the Octy 1.6cr tdi 4x4. I know I'm in for a wait for it to be delivered but the 0% VAT and the 0% APR cant be sniffed at, plus I love the car's looks and feel!

Why the 4x4 version? Well I live out in the sticks in West Yorkshire and have to drive to Leeds for work, about a 60 mile round trip everyday and the roads out in the country arn't cleared too quickly, so it will be nice to have the tracion when I need it and all the safety features are a plus too.

For the past 6 years I have been a SEAT driver and have gotten through 2 Ibiza's. the first a 1.2 SX and now a 1.4 tdi sport reference.

So why the defection to Skoda? Well a couple of points, firstly the choice, Skoda's line up suits my needs a lot better than SEAT's as I've just recently brought a new house and now have a baby on the way, we need something that we will enjoy to drive, find comfortable and have bags of room (planning a driving tour of Europe).

Second, my current Ibiza has had quite a few niggles with it, airbag has been replaced 2 times, fuel pipe keeps springing leaks even after several dealer repairs, the other half refers to it as a Friday afternoon car with the issues I've had with it.

So just the wait now for the car, I've been given a very lose end of March delivery date but I'm prepared for it to take longer than that, so for now I'll keep reading the forums and learn what I can! :)

Cheers,

James.
