I'm happy . . .

Just phoned the previous owner of my Fabia (he was the first owner) and had a lovely chat . . .

He was a retired gent (could have guessed that from his name: Arthur) who really enjoyed the car and only sold as his wife found the seats uncomortable - he would liked to have kept the car himself.

He part exchanged it for a new Ford Fiesta something . . car obviously went off to auction and I purchased from the dealer who picked it up.

He bought it new from a UK skoda dealer . . . he was after a different colour but was told he would have to wait X amount of weeks for it but they had this one (mine) in stock that he could take pretty much straight away . . . . . .

So maybe that's it . . . it's an older car than the reg suggests and that's why it hasn't got the button? either way I'm now no longer worried after my chat.

Arthur said he had no accidents in it and the mileage / service history was all genuine. He has had a few problems with the alarm and had it replaced under warranty but it may still go off 'once' within a minute of being switched on for no apparent reason.

He had one puncture with the car, and a brand new battery and clutch in August 2004 !!!.

All in all I'm really please now as I bought it cheap and it looks like it has nothing to hide.
