The 335D remapped is a terribly fast car....My old man has one....

heard that a remapped one is just as fast as an M3 with loads better economy. is his remapped?

Yes his is remapped....

E46 M3? Yes i would say so.....it all depends on the driver though....

I would say it will easily keep up with anything upto around 70-80mph.

The power is great...but its not very usable IMHO. The torque is relentless and before you know it you are doing triple digits. Lose your licence territory...

Personally I was going to opt for a manual 330d......after i had sold my Z4.

I would love a large diesel BM

Blip the throttle and you are approaching 70mph pretty quick. Unless you are drag racing the thing, do you really need all that torque????

Rear wheels are easy to spin and the thing eats tyres pretty quick. Great car......would still consider one...maybe lol

Plus you dont HAVE to floor it every time you put your foot down lol

i had a c class v6 320cdi super engine but every time you went out you could not leave the power alone always seemed to be doing over 100 mph and all the way to 150 if you wanted in seconds a real license wrecker

Mercedes C350CDi they look nice and drive very well indeed. Or another fast diesel car would be erm... MKI Fabia vRS or A4 3.0TDi Quattro.

I would have Audi A5 3.0 TDI Quattro.emoticon-0105-wink.gif

I would say the A4 3.0tdi quattro (as I have one :D) but you would have to spec the full ADS system and add the Sport Diff to get anywhere near the same handling prowess. You would also have to have the car remapped to keep up with the BMW. I had the 123D twin turbo BMW and there isn't anything like the BMW twin turbos for engine pick-up though, so no engine would be a direct replacement fort the superb 335D. having said that, the A4 really does hang on and cross country would be a match in sheer pace for the BMW if not quite delivering the same amount of enjoyment. It is mainly the steering feel that lets the Audi down, but it is superb on fast corners and you feel almost completely infallible. I also think the engine sounds nicer than the BMW and the interior feels more special. It also looks like a ruddy flight deck at night. If that makes the A4 sound like a bit of a duffer, it isn't. I really do enjoy driving mine, it's just the 335D is just such a good car. The 300D is almost as good, for less money and is more economical though.

ps don't forget the quattro is quite handly at this time of year too :)

I can completely understand not wanting a BMW because its butt ugly (thats certainly why i wouldn't drive 90% of their range), but not buying probably the best cars in their class, just because you think BMW drivers are idiots?

I owned 2, and never had the fabled problems getting out of junctions, or being given space in the fast lane. I take far more abuse for the Skoda.

You've already got over badge stigma buying a Skoda. Take the next step, and buy a BMW, they are great cars

The 3.0 BMW Bi Turbo Diesel engine (*35D) is possibly the best diesel engine available anywhere in the world!!

If you can..Buy it!!!

I agree. The best modern diesel for a long time...

I think some BMW's are very nice. I think my current Z4 is a timeless design. BMW make some of the best cars in the world...

Mercedes are a joke. Having owned two that constantly broke down i would never go back...

Moreover, a BMW would never suffer from leaky door syndrome!!!!!!!!!!! :giggle:
