I know its a coil spring lol

Looks like its been there a while tbh.

I have matched it to the spare rear springs I got in the shed.

Just wondering if the fronts are the same size at the top/bottom

Hoping its off the back as the spares are waiting to go on any way

Does your car look or feel like it's on 3 legs? If not, then it may not be yours.

Interesting as my rear spring also went this month

Oh sheeeeeet!

That looks identical to the bit that snapped off the top of one of my front springs last year.

Crack out the trolley jack and have a butchers.

When mine went I knew it. Mainly due to the massive "BONG" as it went, but the spring then sat on the body so made a horrible noise as you turned the wheel, making the car un-driveable.

Fingers crossed it's a rear mate. If not...... coilovers!

Sounds like you got of lightly though. My dad was driving to work yesterday, came around a corner on a country lane to find a renault in the ditch. He hopped out to see if they were OK, and it turned out that one of the front springs had snapped, and as a result it cut a massive hole in the tyre causing a sudden blow-out mid corner! Pretty scary. Wouldn't want that happening while trying to take a high speed corner....

I was lucky with my rear spring as I was only doing around 20 mph in a built up area. I too heard a loud bong/twang and a huge amount of rubbing as the rear wheel went up under the arch. The coilovers were low as it was let alone with a bottom ring snapped, that then allowed the spring to drop over the spring platform resulting in lowering car 3 inches more. Lucky spring stayed in as damage could of been worse and god knows if i was driving on the motorway.

Popular time of the year for delicate springs to let go :)

Cold temps and road surfacing like the moon does wonders :D

No noise, car looks no different. Since last Friday w have had three cars on the drive and this was where my passenger rear wheel would normally be. Allowing for me being about a foot over this would have dropped out under the car rather than next to it ..... does that make sense lol.

Using the car now I've noticed the steering wheel is slightly to the left when driving straight.

Think I got this worked out using the two finger test...........

I can get two in the drivers side arch bit they don't fit in the passenger side.

As long as you can't fit a whole fist in the rear end, then I think you're OK.

Have many people had issues with these springs? I am looking at buying a set next year :S

Mine have been fine............(touches wooden table) been on the car just under a year

When I called KW I was apparently the first to have one snap on the rear?

Well you can't actually buy these particular springs now anyway.

Weitech springs changed at some point in the last year or so, as they used to be green and are now yellow. Someone else posted that the springs might now be the same as the more expensive KW springs. Even if this isn't the case, I would assume that the difference is more than just the colour coating, but have no idea whether the spring composition is better or no different.

I have the yellows, fitted by AMD in September and after 1k miles have no issues to date.

Yep that was me when i received the replacement set (that were yellow) and have same p/n as KW. Even Jabba Sport were confused as ordering is a little strange now.

KW have reduced there range of springs for Seat/VW/Skoda platforms to a more generic range as well as having the same spring for Weitec as KW.

The poundage is a little different to, as mine are now rated at 1010 instead of 1000.
