Headlights

Featured Replies

How hard is it to change those damn dipped headlamps? I ended up breaking the springy thing that holds the lamp in place, although it seems ok now. The one near the battery is especially tight. Another problem is that, both my lamps blew in a matter of days of eachother, they were the OSRAM cool blue ones, and only 4 months old.

Word of advice, don't buy them, may get silverstars but not if they are like these ones. Might even go for a HID upgrade. Any udea's which is best?

When you inserted those new bulbs, did you make sure you did not get any grease on the bulb-glass (say touching it with your hand, accidentally?)

That can cause it to get a hotspot which in turn will burn your bulb out very quickly.

Also worth checking if your battery voltage is correct during charge as it's not exactly very long for sure :(

I got Xeons on order for my Furby but I put some Philips 4000K H4 bulbs in my Rover 100, excellent light, not sure on lifetime as yet as they were only fitted last week sorry.

Ran Silverstars in my Scooby for 2 years and they were still fine when I sold it. Have put some in my Fabia and they've been in for more than 4 months without blowing :D
