Back to the subject of compensation.

My car is allegedly now at Grimsby and at some point will eventually make it's way to the showroom. However, the dealer is insisting that I come in before the New Year to sign my finance agreement. Yeah, right. Not without having a car to pick up I won't.

If I subsequently find that the car was registered this year (2010) to avoid the VAT increase, but I don't have the opportunity to take delivery until 2011, what decrease in price should be sought as this is no longer a 'new' vehicle? It's an Elegance spec 170CR with about a grand worth of options.

How will the car not be new just because it is registered in December and you pick it up a week or so later?

Personally I don't see what the fuss is about, you have a MY11 car so it will not be worth anything less whether it is registered in December or January, now if it made a difference to the registration number then that would be different.
