Come on then, spill the beans........ball park figure for the KO4 conversion?

Hi Lee,

JKM make no secret of what they charge either with or without a Revo map already on there.... http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsik03k04conversion.htm

My bill came to a bit more that that with the 60k service though....still worth it though

Looking in the sig above your post about 324bhp.

Oh, I thought he meant the cost of the conversion :) . I ran 320.7 bhp on the day of the conversion before things had time to adapt so it will still be somewhere in that area

I did! :giggle:

My clutch went within 8k miles since doing the conversion. I now have a sachs organic clutch installed and despite being snatchy, handles the torque very nicely.

LSD is next on the list :D

I have to admit my Sachs clutch was very snatchy to start with but now it's bedded in it feels like an O.E clutch...... to me anyway.

Yeah, I went into this fully expecting the clutch to go soon, Harry. Like you, a LSD is on my list now I know what a K04 does! I may even get it done before the clutch goes and do both at the same time as the economics of that would probably make sense. I thought you said that you hated the Sachs setup, Harry??

It's got better over time. When it's cold it can sometimes be very 'digital' ie on or off, but once you're moving it's perfect. Just took a bit of getting used to.

I've had zero problems with it coping with the increased power and it does it's job great.

I take back what I said about it previously and wouldn't hesitate in recommending one to you. At the time of posting was right after a short drive in traffic which is a nightmare if it's being on/off :)

I'll be buying a Quaife in the near future, I'll share my experiences once it's on if I do it before you do.

I remember i got a sachs for my old modded PD130 and at first it was on/off but after a while it's ok.

Thanks chaps, that's reassuring

I tried Timmyboys Sachs clutch at a recent rolling road day (just the pedal feel rather than driving it) - it felt a bit stiffer than the OEM but nothing horrific. Luckily I don't do a lot of town driving...if I did I wouldn't be looking to a Sachs....there again, if I did a lot of town driving, I wouldn't have done the K04 conversion for that matter :smirk:

I just have the small issue of finding the £2k for a clutch and LSD :o

i never even realised carl had the sachs clutch in his vRS until he mentioned it to me

I've been looking into this LSD malarky and keep seeing Wavetrac mentioned, and it being rated higher than a Quaife.

It's a bit more expensive I think but I think my money will go on the Quaife. God praise the day when I can go WOT in 2nd :)

I see from JKM's info on Sachs clutches that there is an OEM replacement clutch and a 'Sachs Performance clutch' ( Linky ). I wonder if Carl has the OEM replacement in that case :wonder:

Yeah, I've seen that too but will probably stick with Quaife myself. I think that where I've seen folks not-so-happy with a LSD, it is where they have failed to manage their own expectations and thought that it would eradicate axle tramp, wheelspin, understeer, etc. I think that the reality is that they are great (many say that it is the best mod they ever did!) but aren't some kind of miracle cure unfortunately i.e. I wouldn't get your hopes up about going WOT in 2nd gear with K04 power going through those front wheels, Harry!
