Der DSG done it again

Featured Replies

This morning in virgin snow @-10.5 (&-8.5 parked under cover) went about 100m before changing up, and virtually on the level.

Was it the resistence offered by the virgin snow, picked up on by all those sensors, ie measuring engine rpm against progress.

It is definately "designed in" regardless.

That is all

PS

We will now go shopping, via the country roads, (& fun fun fun) in order to shop in an almost deserted? town,

I do hope the shop staff make it in.

I could have done with my box changing up last night, must have lost about a mm trying to get grip on a hill (winter tyres too). But once it got going... fun fun fun!

Oh god, not again :dull:

I'm quite sure one of the parameters for the box gear change is the torque input from the engine, if the torque required is higher, i.e. due to pushing through the virgin snow then the box will delay changing up until the point at which it is sure that the engine can cope with the upshift.
