Will Octavia II wheels fit Fabia II?

Featured Replies

Collecting my new Fabia Vrs on Thursday and exchanging my trusty Vrs TDi Estate in after 3.5 fantastic years. The Octavia was abysmal in snow last year until I fitted 16" Octavia alloys with Avon Ice touring tyres. It stops, steers and accelerates well on snow and ice now. I want to see if they will fit my new Furby as Im not sure how it (I) will cope with DSG on wintry roads. Ive not even driven a Fabia yet!

Has anyone tried the VRs Tsi in snow yet? Thanks in advance

PCD is different. Octy 5x112 and Fabia 5x100

Tyre size is also different, Octy 205/55 16 and Fabia 205/45 16.

You are correct about the PCD

BUT

The Fabia II vRS tyres are 205/40/17

I know, but they can drive the 16" in 205/45

My wifes roomy scout is also on the 205/40 17" and can drive 195/55 15 in winter.

The Fabia VRS has 16" as smallest size because of the brake disc size.

tyre size has nothing to do with the stud size

the 205/40/17 tyres use 17x7 wheels, 205/24/16 with 16 inch wheels obviously, the fabia needs 5x100 pcd regardless of tyre/wheel size

But your post read differently; indicating you were inferring that the Fabia II vRS had the same wheels as the Mk 1 vRS

Thanks for the update

Thread starters car before the Fabia II VRS was an Octy VRS TDI and these were only built as an Octy II. emoticon-0105-wink.gif

And I was assuming he was going to go for 16" on the new car.

For that the tyre size and the wheels PCD are wrong.

Thanks everyone. Coclusion is I need new wheels n tyres!

Correct and if you do so, buy 4 of them. The std 205/40 17 is dangerous in cold conditions and wont match with winters up front.

15" wheels will fit the Fabia vRS if it has standard brakes.

Didnt know they had 288mm discs, thought they were 312mm.

If so, he could also fit 195/55 15 or even 185/60 15 as winters.

We have 205/40/17 Winter tyres on ours...The car goes anywhere!!!

Not sure what you mean!!

I think he means the mismatch between STD rears and grippier winters on the front..... Potential for serious oversteer!

Sorry Chris, must be my translation from German emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif and the fact that I wrote too fast.

Meant of course the mix of winters up front and summers at the rear. emoticon-0144-nod.gif
