A delay in engine ignition issue - Yeti 1.2 TSI.

Featured Replies

Hi ,

Just got my new Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG a month ago.

Since the begining , some of the attemps to start the engine take too long.

Instead of ignition immediately after turning the key , it can take 3 - 10 seconds.

It does not matter if it is a 'cold' start or not.

A kind of a old FIAT 127 effect : )

My local dealer already replaced the injectors with no joy.

Problem still consists.

As i understood , this issue is not typical at all.

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot,

Dandi.

replacing new injectors with new injectors will make no difference since they hardly if ever fail, more likely is a faulty sensor so that the car thinks the engine is hotter or colder than it actually is with the result that to much, or not enough fuel is being injected to start the car cleanly. Chances are their VAS diag tool is showing no fault yet since the sensor may still be operating within its design tolerances. Sensors to check include the temp sensor that feeds the ecu (different one feeds cluster), fuel temp sensor and MAF.

Thanks a lot mannyo for you prompt response.

My Yeti is going to visit the main Skoda repair center in Israel next week.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved , after all the Yeti is a great car and fun to drive.

Please , for my understanding :

What is the ecu ?

What is the MAF ?

Do you have the part numbers of these suspected sensors ? it can be very helpfull for me.

Thanks !

Dandi
