Help no music, no life. BIG PROBLEM

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just tested my new JVC headunit in my 2001 Fabia Elegance. Thing is I turned the volume up to 25/50 and the bass was pretty high. Thing is I was running it off the standard speakers.

Suddenly the unit cut off and will not power on??????

Restarted the ignition no luck.

Tried checking the fuse on the back of the head unit it seems to be intact???

Any help guys would be much appreciated

Thanks

The fuse in the fuse box?

The fuse in the fuse box?

This seems to be the most likely reason, I cant think of any other reasons the headunit Won't power up...

Tried that with no luck :(

Changed fuse 41 still nothing.

it will be a fuse. you just have to find it. have you checked the fuse again as you may find that some wires may have touched behind the head unit when its been re-installed. and sounds daft but you're replacing the fuse without any power to the car yeah? (i've done it myself without like a fool and it just popped it again)

Sounds like you could be overwhelming the standard electrical system. Which is why it's recommended you run a direct feed for any decent aftermarket stereo direct from the battery.

There maybe a fuse in the back of the HU or on the loom that came with it, try checking that one.

i did the same with my Kenwood Unit...

it was a fuse in the panel behind the drivers door, i just uprated the fuse size by 5/10 amps and it was fine :)

The headunit has 2 fuses, one on the switched supply and the other on the always on 12V supply. The switched supply typically powers other things as well, so find what else is not working and replace that fuse. Try things like the interior light, 12v socket etc.

Hey mate, could you be a bit more specific with where this fuse is?

I have checked in the panel where the seat belt is bolted on.????

Thanks

Think he means the main fuse panel in the side of the dash...
