Loan cars!

Featured Replies

Don't you just love the feeling of getting back in your own car after being in a loan car? :D

Had the car serviced today and have been running round in a brand new Fabia Ambiente with the 1.2HTP engine. Quite surprised when I had a look at the badge on the back as I was pretty sure it was a 1.4! It felt perkier than the 1.4-16v I had as my last courtesy car too and seemed pretty refined for a 3-cylinder.

A big thumbs up to Winchester Motor Company who carried out the service and only relieved me of 75 quid :D Also cleaned the car inside and out for me!

Did it sound like a porche? :D

So you didn't see my Silver RS there today? Has 18'' alloys and a big Briskoda sticker in the rear windscreen.

Had a 1.2 HTP as well...quite impressed with it...upto 80mph without knowing it and has a nice kind of burbling sound. Had 1.4 16v saloon last time....same kind of feeling upto 80 but revs better beyond that.

Was in a met beige one today and met black one previosly. Saloon was met grey.

thats luxury compared with some dealers ( who I no longer use_

Hmmm - I may have done - where was it parked? I got there at about 7:55 this morning and was in and out in about 5 mins :D

I was in a maroon coloured one today which came with a "Hits of the 80's volume 2" cd in the player

My dealer always seems to find really nice courtesy cars for me to use :D

Had 2 octavia;s (1.4 ewww and the 1.9PD :D) and a 1.9PD Superb.

Cant complain, i like the variety. Plenty of time to drive my own :D

Would have missed you then Chris...I didn't get in until around 8:30am and then collected the car around 2:30pm.

They did a good job on my seat but wouldn't change my coil packs when I enquired. Also broke the top connector on my Bailey DV but didn't really push it as it's not a standard part. ;)

In the dim and distant past, when I had a Fiesta, I used to get some nasty stuff. Like a Volvo 340 with Daf-o-matic transmission. It decided to break a propshaft or something in my tenure which was rather embarrassing. Then suddenly one day they gave me a Mondeo when they came out - couldn't believe my luck!

Always interesting what garages give you.Just noticed on someones intro his fabia is damaged, being repaired and they gave him a ford focus  I get the 1.2 Fab ok but yes its nice to have mine back!

Noticed on a BMW site they were moaning about being given a skoda fabia as a loan car :D how did that come about ??

Audi garage used to give me a polo when i took the A4 in  Same garage gave a friend an A8 when he took his A3 in (he is v small and it scared him to death.I would have loved every minute of it :D )

Do think the garages should give you the equivalent of what you took in.Mainly as a sales tactic

Still enjoyed the horrified beemer story but I confess if the garage offered me a fiat multipla I would walk or wait for mine to be fixed :)

I enjoyed getting back in my car after four days of buzzing around Jersey in a Ka. Felt good to be able to push the throttle and actually feel myself being pushed back in my seat. :D

It was actually a loan car that got to try a Skoda Fabia. My Clio went in for repair and the AA gave me a rental car which was a Fabia 1.4 16v estate. I loved it.

But mainly I get lumbered with things like Clio's, Micra's (shudder!) and 206's (again, shudder!).

But as I'm young I appreciate they wouldn't give me a large or powerful car.

Garages should give you something just slightly better than what you have, try and get you to trade up.

I get Corsa 1.2 SXi's when the van goes in for a service, once got a brand new Vectra C 1.8 SXi which was nice.

I have booked the Octy in for some warranty work next week, and i asked to get the vRS fabia demo for the day. So he said ok, roll on thursday. :D
