False Boot Floor

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase the False Boot Floor for the Octavia MY10 Hatch, and noticed 3 parts for it. The floor, the sides, and the mat. If I only want the central area to be raised, I just need the floor and mat??

Also, does anyone know of any stockist that will ship overseas? As I'm located in Singapore, and parts for Skoda are really hard to get.

Thanks!!!

You need the sides and these are the support for the raised floor.

There was another thread on here about fitting the raised floor which might have some pics on it but basically you have two rails down the length of the boot which fix to the eyes towards the back and the deck or main raised section which fits with quarter turn dzus fasteners.

Yeah you need the whole kit. I have one in my estate, but I don't like it as it takes up so much room. Going to rip it out and put down one of those rubber mats.

I take mine off too when i travel with more stuff as it takes space. I leave it in town as baby pushchair and small bags are easier to pull in/out.

Luke, what you doing with it?

I need false floor for my 06 Vrs as my TransK9 dog box doors foul unless it is raised up to clear lip.

I have false floor on order for new Scout but was just gonna pop two bits of 7" by 2" wood in Vrs to raise box up (I will likely swap box between cars on occasion).

I may be in a position to buy it if it is not too expensive with postage etc?

Cheers,

Cyril

Hi guys,

I will be London on the 31st, and if anyone is willing to sell theirs, please let me know!!!

Meant for VRS 09 Hatch. Thanks!!

i agree too the false floor is a waste of space and restrict boot space, only useful if you are carrying heavy loads

Actually the false floor may not be particularly useful for carrying heavy loads. It is heavy itself but I seem to remember is only rated to 75kg. I do find mine useful though as I can hide all the winter stuff away leaving the impression of being tidy.

Would anyone be able to suggest any dealer near London that I could be able to purchase this? And also is the packaging box huge, or something manageable?

Thanks!

I didn't see the box as it came with the car, but when i took it off it has 2 slim straight extensions of say 10cm X 80cm and the folding board of say 70cm X 80cm that folds in 3 pieces so the thickest piece is 30cm. You can handle all parts under your arm on 1 hand and it wights about 5-6kg.

I find mine useful to tidy away a lot of bits and pieces, especially in the winter. It also makes it easier to get the baby buggy in and out.

Thanks guys. Just hope I can find a place to get it now, or someone is willing to sell theirs! I emailed a few dealers, and no reply, but also possibly to the Xmas holidays.

Hi have just swapped my 08 plate octy vrs est for 60 plate octy vrs hatch, i have taken the false floor out so is in my garage gathering dust!!!!, If anyone wants to make an offer for it feel free to do so, it is in excellent condition no rips or tears

75kg's eerm will I dont know about that!

Mine has a large (5.5bhp/250cc/8kva) genny put in it and a big tool chest as well when I go off racing and I have never had any issues.

I love the fact that I can keep all of my PPE gear in the car (high vis coat, toe tektors, hard hat etc) in the car without them being obvious and bouncing around the boot all the time, it usually has a blanket tool walletand some nuts and bolts.

If anyone wants to buy all the bits of my false boot floor, and preferably willing to pick it up (as it cost god knows what to post), then you can have it for the price of the rubber mat I'm going to replace it with... which seems to be about £60. PM me if you are interested.

As mentioned above, you do indeed need three parts for it. The new mat is required so the rails for the new floor sit on the base of the boot rather than on the mat, the replacement mat is narrower so it sits just between the rails. Opinions seem very split over the false boot floor but personally I think it's superb, it's one of the reasons I bought my Octavia. I wanted the estate for my dog but was put off by the large lip on the Octavia's boot as the previous dog didn't like this on the previous Octavia I had however the false boot floor resolves this. I've been very pleased with it, for the dog it smooth the lip and lifts the boot up making it easy for him to see out the windows (he's a cocker spaniel and likes watching out the side and back). However I also like that it smooths the lip both on the boot side and to the back of the seats for loading the boot up with goods and I also like having somewhere more hidden to put items, I think if you have the top cover slid back it looks like there may be something there but if you leave that open with the items under the false boot floor then to anyone looking through the rear window there doesn't seem to be anything in the boot.

I would say it's a fairly bulky package to send by post, I just went into my local dealer and got them to order one up for me.

Just to clarify, is there a specific part to fit the hatch or does the estate version fit?

And if it's the estate version, does it fit perfectly or is it a 'near enough' type of fit?

The one from my 08 octy vrs est does not fit in my 60 vrs hatch, so i guess they must be model specific, if that helps

Thanks for that.

Anyone know where to find details on the hatch version- the Octavia brochure makes no mention of it.

I took mine out and I started getting 4mpg more!

Thanks for that.

To answer my own question, there is a seperate part for the hatch which is listed in the 'accessories' brochure.

Thanks for that.

Unless I really am going mad (it's me age you know !) - I don't believe there is a false floor option for the hatch, the drop from the bumper to the floor is greater than that of the estate from my best recollection.

That is not to say you could not manufacture one but guess you would have to make some custom sides to offest the height difference.

See my post directly above yours :p
