Octavia winter winner!

Featured Replies

Out of all the cars/vans I have at work including Navara 4x4, citreon and transit vans only one vehicle managed to keep wash wipe working!!

You guessed it , the Octy!!

Navara (drive anywhere 4x4...... How, if u can't see out of windsreen!?!)

Octy not too bad in snow if you turn traction control OFF!

Is that to do with the quality of the screen wash mix, not the cars itself. :wonder:

I would imagine most Fords are better for this, because they have a heated windscreen.

All same wash, all put in on same day.

I think it's more to do with where the bottle is mounted

+1 where the bottles are mounted a tubing routes is a big factor. I have a Mazda which has the heated windscreen - how is that going to stop the washer water freezing????

I am running at 50% washer fluid concentration and teh washers can be working when I set of at , say, -6 but will freeze while driving even when the outside temp moveds to -2.

p.s. -13c here this morning so no chance!

Havent had my washers freeze up yet an filled it with water n washing up liquid at work last week cos had run out.

But if the neat fluid is only good to -5 then 50:50 won't keep it defrosted.

TBH was running the VAG stuff at somewhere between the -16 and -35 concentrations to keep it moving when it got really cold.
